Here's a good one for you. Tonight we had our user group meeting, and at about the time it got rolling the Columbus area started getting hit pretty hard with a snow storm that was supposed to drop a few inches of the white stuff. You don't know this, but my wife and her mom tend to worry a lot, especially when bad weather comes around. So when I got home my wife said she talked to her mom earlier and she had asked what I was doing out in the storm. Amy told her that I was at the user group meeting, in which her mom replied, “You mean he's at the nerds again?” (yes, I typed it correctly). I kid you not. Everytime I think about that statement the funnier it is.
This statement comes on the heels of something my wife said the other day. Backstory: I'm finishing our basement and am going all out in the home theater department. Obviously the key piece of equipment I'm buying is a new big-screen TV. The ones I like the most are large (+ 42 inches) flat-screen LCD HDTV DLP. Well, Amy likes to look at these TVs with me and as we were looking at some online she asked what DLP stood for. Before I got a chance to say “Digial Light Processing” she said “Dorks Like Peter”.
Welcome to my world.
